How it connects
Headroom reads PayPal business accounts through the reporting access PayPal provides, with a read-only credential you create in your own account. Balances in each currency, settlements and transfers to your bank are read every hour. Money held in PayPal is cash the group owns but cannot spend from its bank, so it appears as its own line in the matrix, converted at the fixing you chose for the group total.
When a transfer to the bank is initiated, Headroom adds it to the forecast with the expected arrival date, then matches it to the bank line when it lands. Fees and reversals stay visible on their own rows. If a currency balance in PayPal grows past a threshold you set, such as $40,000, an alert suggests moving it to the bank before the next payment run. Each transfer keeps its PayPal reference, so it can be traced.
