Alerts

Alerts that wait for the right moment

Quiet hours, escalation steps and a daily digest for alert rules.

Every alert rule can now carry quiet hours, expressed in the time zone of the person it notifies. A low-balance alert for the New York team no longer wakes someone in Singapore when the threshold is crossed at three in the morning their time.

Escalation is a second step on the same rule. If an alert has not been acknowledged within two hours, it goes to the next person on the chain, then to the treasurer. A daily digest groups the alerts that did not need an immediate answer.

Rules also show how often they have fired. A rule that triggered forty times last month is probably set too tight, and the editor suggests a looser threshold with the number of alerts it would have avoided.
